Job Description
The position exists to implement, coordinate, and continually improve the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe's Risk Management System (RMS) in line with the Council's strategic objectives, Quality Management System (QMS), and the 3 Lines of Defence Model. The Risk Officer ensures systematic identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of risks while promoting a proactive, organization-wide risk-aware culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, review, and maintain the Risk Management System (RMS)
- Coordinate organisation wide risk identification and annual SWOT analyses.
- Develop, review, and consolidate departmental and organisational risk registers.
- Guide departments in risk treatment and mitigation planning.
- Monitor and track implementation of risk controls and action plans.
- Oversee risk event reporting, logging, escalation, and analysis.
- Coordinate post incident reviews and corrective actions.
- Prepare quarterly, annual, and exception based risk reports for Management.
- Support Quality Management System (QMS) objectives and continuous improvement.
- Promote a proactive risk aware culture through training and awareness programmes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, BSc Honours Degree in Audit and Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ISO 31000, CRM, IRM, CIA, or CISA are an added advantage.
- Training in Quality Management Systems or Internal Audit is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or quality management.
- Experience in public sector, regulatory, or transport-related institutions is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, maintaining risk registers, and preparing risk reports.
- Sound understanding of risk management principles, risk assessment techniques, and control measures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement concepts.
- High ethical standards, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Good computer skills and data management ability.
