Job Description
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Organizing and supervising practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and instruments
- Managing laboratory inventories, including equipment and consumables
- Ordering, receiving, storing, and cataloguing laboratory supplies
- Assisting students with practical activities related to research projects
- Supervising and assigning duties to Technical Assistants
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Chief Laboratory Technician or Chairperson of Department
Qualifications And Experience
Applicants must possess a National Diploma in Science Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and reputable institution. A Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Candidates must have passed at least five (5) Ordinary Level subjects, including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Science
A minimum of one (1) year of laboratory work experience is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a tertiary education institution.

- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
