Job Advert Summary:

To develop technical and practical skills in instrumentation and process control within a cement manufacturing environment through structured on-the-job training, coaching, and formal learning. The apprentice supports the installation, inspection, calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of field instruments, control systems, and associated equipment to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 5 O" Level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Science, with Grade C or better. At least 2 A' Level Science passes added advantage Clearance Letter from the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education (Apprenticeship Training Board). Be aged between 18 and 24 years

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete the approved apprenticeship training programme and all required trade tests or assessments within agreed timelines.
• Demonstrate progressive competence in instrument installation, calibration, inspection, loop checking, and basic fault diagnosis under supervision.
• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of field devices such as sensors, transmitters, switches, analysers, control valves, and related instrumentation equipment.
• Support the monitoring and maintenance of PLC/DCS signals, instrument loops, and safety-critical controls in line with plant procedures.
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements at all times.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, calibration records, checklists, and training documentation.
• Participate in shutdowns, breakdown response, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting product quality.
• Build readiness for appointment into a qualified Instrument Technician role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
