Chief Accountant - Zambia

We are looking for a Chief Accountant.

Role Overview:

• The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee finance operations, ensuring timely payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (ZRA, NHIMA, NAPSA).
• Manage payables, receivables, and cashbook reconciliations.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and reconcile tax accounts.
• Supervise, mentor, and appraise finance staff.
• Review and approve invoices, journals, and payments.
• Support internal, external, and statutory audits.
• Liaise with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and service providers.
