The Financial Manager will oversee the full spectrum of financial operations, provide strategic financial guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive financial performance to support the company’s operational and commercial objectives.

This role requires a proactive leader with strong analytical capability, FMCG financial expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insight-driven recommendations to improve profitability.
• Develop financial models to support cost control and business expansion initiatives.
• Oversee preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Present financial performance reports to senior management and the board.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory and internal financial reports.
• Monitor daily cash flow and ensure optimal liquidity for operational needs.
• Manage banking relationships, loan facilities, and treasury decisions.
• Implement working capital optimization strategies, including inventory and receivables management.
• Oversee product costing, margin analysis, SKU profitability reviews, and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to control production costs and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Support pricing decisions through financial insights and market analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax legislation, ZIMRA regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Coordinate annual external audits and oversee internal audit processes.
• Identify financial risks and implement robust internal controls and mitigation strategies.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee onboarding, performance management, and capability building within the department.

Qualifications & Experience

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (mandatory).
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA(Z)or equivalent (strong advantage).
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is an added advantage.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and operational finance in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong leadership background with experience supervising finance teams.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Sage, Oracle, or similar).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and audit procedures.
